This works about as well as a higher priced Philips model I have on another television and without the need to plug into a power source. The UHF loop can be turned in any direction or it can be folded down flat for best reception. I can get about 10 UHF channels ; all of them sharp and clear. The VHF antennas can be moved 360 degrees for best reception, though oddly enough, they seem to work better when they are not fully extended. I purchased this antenna to replace another type, this was a snap to plug up, and it does not require the adapter to use as with my other antenna. I like the feature of the middle flat panel is another way to get a better picture, not only does that add a nice look to my den, it also has great features, the channels I was only able to catch late at nite, I can catch anytime now. This one gets me most of the stations I got with analog, and few new ones. The only antenna that will pull in CBS is my old, non-HD amplified rabbit ears. This one comes pretty close though. If you don't want to go cable, this is probably the best, and not as expensive as the ones that didn't work worth a darn. ...more

That isn't the antenna's fault. If you live > 20 miles away, you need a large outdoor antenna. I live 9 miles from my source in an urban area. I have used many unamplified indoor antennas which work well when fully extended, but when I walk by the antenna, it will drop the signal on digital channels. This antenna actually interfered with reception on relatively new TV and worked perfectly on an old TV. Boosters or the lack thereof are specific from room to room and from TV to TV, and a recommendation from me will be meaningless to you. One TV on the attic antenna with a booster gets all four available stations. (That's a Sony.) Another TV on the same antenna requires a second booster to get 3 channels. ...more
